Happy 24th!

Tristan was soo excited for my birthday, he woke me up screaming at the top of his lungs at 5 in the morning.  Then he fell asleep with me after eating, and we slept till 10….oops, church is at 11!  so we hurried and got ready to go, locking ourselves out of the house when we left……other oops…..

Yesterday!  Nick was nice and took me out for my birthday.  I had some birthday money to spend from his mom and grammy and grandma and grandpa, so he said we could go any where I wanted.  His mom also sent me a cute dress, sweater and shoes that I wore when we went out.  So, with grammy's gift, I got some new scrapbook paper, ribbons and pictures to make more Tristan pages.  With grandma and grandpa's gift, I got dragonfly earrings to match my mother's day necklace and a belt.  With mom's gift I got some figurines, a pegasus colt and a unicorn.  At that same store,Nick got me a Lynx mom and baby and fox mom and baby as well.  In case you didn't know this about me, I love toys, haha.  One year on my birthday, nick got me a fairy riding a horse, and I loved it.  Then we got Nick some sushi, a new battery for the car beeper, and some groceries for birthday dinner: ratatouille!  Nick still wants to take me to Allens photo for some film for the Nikon from my daddy, so we'll do that next week.  And when we got home, two boxes of smoked salmon fillets from my daddy were waiting on our doorstep.  Mmm mmm!

So back to locking ourselves out….that stunk.  But church was great, married student ward.  Only, Tristan was one of three babies….I was kinda hoping there would be more mommies like me.  And, halfway through Sunday school, he had a melt down.  So I took him out and tried to make him happy.  Of course, he spat his binki onto the floor.  Nick had already taken him out of Sacrament meeting cuz he was fussy….so we went and sat on the couch in the foyer; I tried rocking him to sleep with the rest of his bottle, but he wouldn't hear of it.  He started squirming and fussing, and then, the blood curdling scream.  Everyone in the chapel went silent and stared at us.  So, mortified, I tried picking up the diaper bag, the carseat and Tristan to go hide in an empty classroom.  Of course I dropped everything in the attempt, looking even more stupid.  Finally, we found a  room, and I tried to feed  him again, but he just kept screaming,  Frustrated, I laid him on the floor to get a break, and he stopped crying.  All the silly thing wanted to do was kick around on the floor…….goodness.

Once we got home, Nick got in through our bedroom window, while Tristan had another meltdown and spat his binki from the landing into the grass.  I was about ready to sell him to the circus at this point.  But we got him inside, and I went to feed him in our bed, and the little booger fell right to sleep.  Ahhhhh, soo nice!  Nick also took a nap with us, so it was a nice relaxing afternoon.  I got to talk to Nick's dad and diane, my parents, my sister Faith, and we skyped with Nick's mom and Roger.

Then, I made cakemix cookies and ratatouille.  Nick said it was probably the best meal I've ever made, and it was amazing!!  So tasty!  And all veggies.  I've been wanting to make it ever since I saw the pixar movie.

So, all in all, good birthday weekend.  24 years old….crazy!  But I'm loving it.  I have a great husband, an adorable baby, and an amazing family.  Life is good,
